Nature is Beautiful ...

... even in death. This duck was in a sleeping pose on some rocks we were climbing on. Very peaceful, tranquil, like she had chosen that spot to pass on. Safe travels.

Happy Summer Solstice!

Also a Happy Father's Day to everyone!

I can't believe June is nearing it's end. The garden is not completely in yet, I haven't been kayaking as much as I had hoped, and my deadlines at work have finally extended into 2010.

In the meantime I stitched up this little guy on one of my shopping bags, to remind that me that life is sweet, no matter how simple the tasks are that you are doing.

We are counting down to vacation. We'll be heading to Acadia, our first time... and we've got what looks like the perfect little cottage, complete with telescope to check out the night skies from one of the darkest spot on the east coast... I'm not anticipating the greatest of weather, but am hopeful that we get at least one clear night! And the cottage has wi-fi, so there is a good chance I will be able to update as the days go by.

Take care everyone, enjoy this solstice time of year, and remember to embrace the simple things in life.

Never Mind.

This blog is for VENTING. Like, when I decide I need a sweet and go to get a Klondike bar. But they are all gone. There were 3 last night. I haven't had any. Bill? Bill? Are you out there? Revenge will be mine.

So where am I?

I journal with pen and paper, and sketches. I Facebook daily (I think) to communicate with friends, quickly and sometimes vaguely. I use my gchat status for instantaneous updates on how I am feeling. And my blog sits rather lonely... I don't know what to write in it! I was using it to keep friends and family updated on what was going on in my life... but now FB has taken over that role. Then I was using it to journal feelings, and life's journeys... but now I am back to preferring pen and paper...

One of my best friends is continually blogging, and she writes really well, with wit and sarcasm, daily updates, purging past events, and our conversations. Another best friend has discovered Twitter, and tweets as often as she can, quick humor and intelligent advice. So, I am left to wonder what to do with this little part of the internet that I have claimed for myself?

My gut instinct is to go back to my graphic posts, when I started working on my Illustrator Alphabet, and use this blog to encourage me to spend more time creatively in my graphic arts. Yup. That's my plan for now.

Rabbit shows up everywhere...

I saw a smiling rabbit immediately. How about you?

Spring

A little color...

... a lot of dirt ...

a pinch of hope...

... and a touch of wild...

that's how my garden grows.
